The Cross. Anguish. Torture. What an amazing sacrifice of LOVE for us. It offers Grace. Mercy. Forgiveness. Freedom.
The Resurrection. Conquering Death. Victory. New Life. Rising to proclaim the Glory of His Kingdom. Sending the Holy Spirit to abide with us.
Sometimes it is impossible to truly describe the greatness, awe, and wonder of our Almighty God and His promises. This Easter, I encourage you to reflect upon the meaning of Jesus' death and resurrection. Just as the season of Spring brings new life and a renewed sense of warmth, the Cross brings the very same for your soul. Surrender to Jesus today. Take up your cross. Lay down your sin and weaknesses. Choose to follow Him. Choose to fight for Him. Choose Life with Him. He is the only One who will never let you down. He offers "beauty for ashes, strength for fear, gladness for mourning, and peace for despair." (Crystal Lewis; also see Isaiah 61:3.)
As you watch your children search for Easter eggs, think about your life’s journey and your search for purpose. As you watch the JOY on their faces when they look at their basket full of treasures, think about the JOY of the Lord and His love.
